Hadassah Action Events & News

To be part of Hadassah is to be with an organization of action -- many actions. Hadassah has a long, proud history of practical humanitarian work in Israel. To most people, American and Israeli, Hadassah is synonymous with its hospitals on Jerusalem’s Mount Scopus and in Ein Karem. Or Hadassah’s involvement with Jewish National Fund, planting gardens and forests in Israel.
New Mom’s Group now forming!
If you have a child age newborn (or in-utero) up to the age of four and would like to meet with other Jewish moms for play dates, walks or other fun events, please contact Elana at elana@feinsmith.com.

Today, the Hadassah Medical Organization is world renowned as the largest center for health research, medical care, rehabilitation in the Middle East. It is widely recognized as a pioneer, and it is proud of its many health care ―firsts‖ in Israel including the first nursing, medical and dental schools; the first complete cancer center and more.
Hadassah Hospital physicians have aided refugees in Rwanda, and more recently Haiti.

Machon HLA

We’re ready to get the ball rolling for our next course in Machon HLA (Hadassah Leadership Academy)!  National Hadassah has developed several curricula covering various aspects of Judaism, Zionism, extraordinary Jewish women, even family relationships in the Bible!  7 sessions will cover a curriculum chosen from Hadassah’s offerings.  Participants will also select 3 sessions on a variety of leadership skills.  Machon sessions meet one Sunday morning per month for 2 hours.  Participants take turns leading and hosting.  Machon is a wonderful way to get to know fellow Hadassah members in a more intimate setting, and a great way to refine and develop your leadership skills.  If you are interested in participating, or in coordinating a course, please contact leadershipprograms@hadassahaction.org .

Training Wheels/Wheeling On/Al Galgalim

Al Galgalim is Hadassah’s two-phase Jewish family education program. Training Wheels (for ages 2-5)  is a Hadassah-designed Jewish education program that introduces families to the joys of celebrating Shabbat and the Jewish holidays in a hands-on, pressure-free, friendly environment.  Each session is 1-1/2 to 2 hours, one Sunday morning a month, and includes crafts, music, introduction to the Hebrew language, parenting discussions, and Hadassah-related information.  Wheeling On (for ages K-2nd grade) is the next phase of the program.

Spaces are filling up fast, so if you are interested, don’t delay!  More facilitators may be needed.  This is a very rewarding volunteer position.  No prior experience is necessary, just a love of Judaism and enthusiasm for the job.  To register or volunteer, contact trainingwheels@hadassahaction.org.  You can also register online here.
